Ingredients

  • 1 Pound Brussels Sprouts, peeled and halved
  • 1 Tablespoon + 2 Teaspoons Maple or Date Syrup, divided
  • 1 Teaspoon Kosher Salt
  • 1 Tablespoon Rice Vinegar
  • 2 Teaspoons Sriracha
  • Sesame Seeds and Scallions, to serve

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, mix the trimmed Brussels sprouts with the 1 tablespoon of the maple syrup or date syrup, salt, and 1 tablespoon water.
  2. Place the brussels sprouts cut-side down on the pan. Cook until deeply browned, adding a splash of water as necessary to avoid sticking. If the sprouts are extra large, flip them over and cook on the other side until tender.
  3. Remove the sprouts from the heat and place them back in the bowl. Add the rice vinegar, sriracha, and remaining maple syrup. Stir to combine.
  4. To serve, sprinkle with the sesame seeds and chopped scallions. Season with salt and pepper, to taste. Enjoy!
