Make a vegan iced matcha latte at home with no equipment. Sweetened with maple syrup and ready in just a few minutes!
I made my first matcha latte at home a few months ago. Before then, I had tried matcha at a few coffee shops, but hadn't really liked it. When I tried my hand at a matcha latte I fell in love!
This is why I love cooking at home! It gives you a chance to experiment with foods and find flavors and methods that work for you.
Whether you've never tried matcha before, or are a seasoned matcha drinker, looking for an iced version of your favorite drink, this vegan iced matcha latte is for you! It's so easy to make at home with no equipment, and customizable to your own tastes!
Step 1. In a liquid measuring cup or jar, whisk or shake the matcha and hot water.
Step 2. Add the cold water and whisk or shake well. Set aside in the fridge to cool for a few minutes.
Step 3. Meanwhile, in a liquid measuring cup or jar, whisk or shake the milk and maple syrup.
Step 4. To serve, add ice to a glass. Pour in the milk and maple syrup mixture. Then pour in the matcha. Enjoy!
What does an iced matcha latte taste like?
An iced matcha latte tastes like the combination of its components:
So, an iced matcha latte is a sweet, creamy, earthy, refreshing drink!
How to make an iced matcha latte without whisk
If you don't have a matcha whisk/chasen, don't worry!
I used a regular kitchen whisk to mix my latte.
Or you can also use a mason jar to shake the ingredients together. Mason jars are one of my favorite DIY latte tools!
Make it a hot latte
1. Use all warm water, instead of cold.
2. Warm your milk in the microwave or on the stove before mixing it with the maple syrup.
3. Skip the ice and opt for a mug instead of a glass.
Adjust the sweetness
Experiment with how much maple syrup you add for that perfect-for-you sweetness level. Or go for unsweetened and omit the syrup entirely.
Can I make an iced matcha latte ahead of time?
Yes! Store the matcha/water and the milk/syrup mixture in separate jars in the fridge. Then mix right before you want to serve.
Or prep a big batch and store the lattes mixed together in a jar in the fridge for up to a week.
Thank you God for this latte. Thank you for this delicious start our morning. Amen.
